I did encounter several roaming Marsh Tits on my patch in east Somerset a few years ago. This was away from any woodland, with just the usual clumps of trees lining fields used for grazing cattle. So they can wonder even if reluctantly.

Lovely memories. I was on that boat trip on 27th June when we saw 022 catch the fish. We were able to watch him take it to the nest on the Live Stream. A magical day that was for us. 😊. Can’t wait for the new season to begin.

A trip down memory lane - the amount of hours I spent watching this adventure were so very pleasurable! Now the new year has arrived, I’m anxiously awaiting there return!

Great round up. Was there throughout, and was privileged to visit the nest site too. Fingers crossed that all return safely, including the unringed female where hopefully another male will bond with her in the area. Thanks to the BoPH team for all the work that goes into making this possible.

Would the unringed female have been able to find a nesting site and new mate in Poole Harbour?

I hope it's not a storm-damaged camera pole, as I doubt if that would be repaired with the birds in situ. What a violent and prolonged storm.
